Biography
Janice Allen was appointed to the Senate of Jamaica in September 2020 and has dedicated most of her professional life to public service, with a strong focus on the tourism sector. A native of Montego Bay, where she currently resides, Janice Allen serves as the Shadow Minister for Tourism & Linkages and is a steadfast advocate for the equitable and sustainable growth of Jamaica's tourism industry.
With over two decades of experience, Janice Allen has served as a policy advisor to two Ministers of Tourism, a marketer with the award-winning Jamaica Tourist Board, and as Jamaica's Film Commissioner. Her expertise extends into the private sector, where she held key roles in marketing and project management within Jamaica's leading telecommunications companies.
Leveraging her extensive experience, she founded Forge Consulting, a boutique advisory firm specialising in business development, investment facilitation, and human resource development within the tourism industry.
Born into political activism, Janice Allen is the Standard Bearer for the St. James Central constituency and will contest the seat on behalf of the People's National Party in the upcoming elections. She is recognised for her balanced, strategic approach to policy, championing initiatives that support tourism stakeholders, particularly in western Jamaica.
Beyond her parliamentary duties, Janice Allen is deeply engaged in global advocacy. She is also a Vital Voices Fellow and, through the Vital Voices Global Partnership, collaborates with women leaders worldwide to advance gender equality and environmental sustainability.
An avid golf enthusiast, Janice Allen enjoys the sport whenever her schedule permits, finding balance between her professional responsibilities and personal passions.
